You will participate in making this a reality by supporting the team focused on developing and using novel sequencing platforms for SARS-CoV-2 and West Nile virus. Specifically, your responsibilities will focus on helping to coordinate sample collections, being a liaison with research partners, and supporting the researcher team. Additionally, the lab assistant is expected to perform basic molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid extraction from different biological materials, DNA quantification, conventional and real-time PCR runs, gel electrophoresis, among others. Other activities include glassware washing, autoclaving, media, solution and buffer preparation, replenishing and stocking supplies, and performing other supporting duties, task and responsibilities as required or assigned. Local travel for work is part of the job duties, that will be discussed during the interview process.
