The Team Lead provides operator support for Warehouse/Cooler operations, providing on-the-job operator training, troubleshooting, product quality validations and executing the shipping and receiving schedules in the cooler. Coordinate with supervisory team to provide operator and equipment technical support, monitor work to maximize productivity and prevent downtime on an assigned shift. Ensures team members are following standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, product quality, employee safety, as well as compliance with state and federal guidelines. Inspects in-bound/out-bound loads and ensures they are in accordance with specifications. Coordinate with Warehouse Clerks to ensure customer pick-ups are fulfilled on time, in full, with no errors. Immediately report downtime and product deviations (out of spec) to Supervisor. Complete all assigned paperwork. Support employee training (i.e. new hire, transfers, job, safety, etc.), monitor/report training progression. Recommends improvements to material handling methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems. Provide meal/rest breaks when necessary. Provide operator relief when necessary Collaborates with team to coordinate activities between departments. Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures. Promote safety programs and policies to ensure employee health and safety, reduce the number of safety incidents and near-misses. Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values. Performs other duties as assigned. You are best suited for the role if you… One to three years of material handling experience, preferably in dairy/food manufacturing. Experience leading and following Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications. Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on deficiencies. English proficiency, verbal/written communication skills. Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail. Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Ability to lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage a team of employees. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends in support of plant operations. The employee may be exposed to wet, hot, humid and cold temperatures, moving machinery including forklift traffic, and noise levels exceeding 85dB.
