Job Description
SDAC is seeking a full-time Fire Safety Manager to join our team. In this critical role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our facilities and occupants.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect life and property: This is your primary mission. You will implement and maintain fire safety protocols to minimize fire risks and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Monitor fire control panels: You will be responsible for continuously monitoring fire control panels for any alarms or irregularities.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance to commercial equipment including but not limited to chillers, heat pumps, split systems, roof top units, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, VAV systems, etc.

Maintain accurate lists, security and stocking levels of HVAC service tools and consumable supplies
- Make appropriate announcements: Upon detecting an alarm or fire emergency, you will be responsible for making clear and concise announcements to guide building occupants on evacuation procedures.
- Test fire control and alarm systems: You will conduct regular testing of fire control and alarm systems in accordance with established protocols.
- Plan and execute fire drills and evacuations: Develop and implement fire drill procedures, ensuring smooth and successful evacuation of all occupants during a real-life emergency.
- Report all incidents: You will document and report all fire incidents through the appropriate channels, ensuring proper documentation and investigation.
- Maintain fire safety records: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on fire safety inspections, drills, and equipment testing.
- Stay informed: You will actively participate in fire safety training programs to maintain your knowledge and skills regarding fire prevention, suppression, and emergency evacuation procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or Fire and safety experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire safety or a related field.
- Certified Fire Safety (FS-89/TS-89) or equivalent is a plus
- Strong understanding of fire safety codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to clearly deliver instructions and guide building occupants during emergencies.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to maintain a safe environment.
- Proficient in using fire safety equipment and systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills to maintain fire safety records and schedules.
