Salad Station Cook

Overview

Sea Captain’s House has been a favorite of the Grand Strand for over 60 years.  We are a high-volume, fast-paced, oceanfront restaurant with an award-winning kitchen that is looking for Prep Cooks to join our team!  As a Prep Cook, you will prepare ingredients, set up workstations, properly store and maintain kitchen supplies and inventory, and perform other related duties to support kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Prep Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare salads, cold appetizers, and desserts according to recipes
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepare ingredients
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and stock product when there are shortages
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the restaurant’s spaces, including kitchen, prep areas, dining areas, and restrooms as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

• Prior kitchen work experience 
• Weekend availability
• ServSafe Certified is a plus, but not required
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and stand for long periods of time
• Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, and supervisors
