About the Role
Primary role is to support the Displays team with the underwater maintenance and public exhibit feeds within exhibits at SEA LIFE. Assist the displays team with other husbandry duties as assigned. Support with algal management on all acrylic viewing windows including the tunnel. Support with in-water PR events as required. General in-tank theming management within the displays. Algal management within all exhibits. Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Health, Safety & Security in the workplace, the SEA LIFE Dive Manual and in line with the Merlin Entertainments Group Policy. Understand risk assessments within own workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to appropriate line manager. In compliance of safe working procedures in place for work activities within one’s job role. In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely manager. Assist with other husbandry duties including food prep, feeding, cleaning, etc. as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- To participate and Dive as part of the team, acting as DPIC, presenter and Safety Diver.
- Participate in cleaning dives 1-2x weekly
- Participate in animal care and capture dives as needed with guidance from staff
- Participate in cleaning snorkel sessions on smaller exhibits
- Assist in the upkeep of dive logs and equipment maintenance
- Assist with other displays tanks such as food prep and feeding as needed.
- Work with aquarists to complete other husbandry duties as assigned.
About You
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum Rescue Diver Certification.
- Be comfortable diving while wearing costumes.
- Fun, Positive attitude, Reliable and Punctual.
- Able to respond to schedule updates within 48 hours.
- Able to pass check out dive.
- Ability to obtain annual dive physicals.
- Be comfortable with potentially long hours in the water.
