What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Multi-Site Farm Supervisor position at Seaboard Foods?
Duties: Responsible for overseeing and directing the day-to-day activities in the nursery and finishing operations related to site cleanliness, power washing, and vaccinating animals on farms located on multiple sites in multiple states. Interacts and makes suggestions concerning practices and Seaboard Foods policies. Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws. Perform performance appraisals with employees at regularly scheduled intervals. Ensure that production tasks, company policies, and regulations are followed as outlined in training and procedures manuals. Supervise employees at the animal caretakers' level II and utility levels and department team leader (5 farm hands) and has hire/fire authority.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine, animal science or husbandry, or related field, and two years of swine production experience. Experience overseeing production tasks and ensuring that company policies and regulations are followed as outlined in training and procedures manuals. Experience analyzing and implementing safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Experience writing routine reports and correspondence. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and sometimes push and/or move up to 300 pounds. Must be proficient in English reading and writing.
