Fire Control Technician

We are searching for an experienced Fire Control Technician at our Middletown, RI location.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final roll-out and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that run on the web. The systems engineer is responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices. Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance.
- Executing test procedures and documenting results
- Writing clear and concise problem reports
- Identifying temporary workarounds for problems while long term solutions are developed
- Understanding risk associated with all problem reports
- Providing lab test support and troubleshooting problems
- Investigating and analyzing failures to determine root-causes
- Working with customer leads to review system designs and provide recommendations for implementation
- Attending meetings as applicable and provide necessary verbal communication

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Standard Offices and Electronics Assembly & Testing Labs: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In the Laboratory setting, significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering.
Eligibility Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience. Experience as a Fire Control Technician on submarines aligns very well with the type of work being performed.
Clearance Required: Secret
