Position Summary

The Facilities Helper will assist Facilities Craft in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC and facilities equipment. This position can be utilized as a developmental role to allow the selected candidate to further develop his/her mechanical aptitude in preparation for potential future advancement opportunities in the Maintenance group.

Compensation

Starting pay for this position is $18.00/hour

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from workstations and other areas
• Perform facilities equipment routine general maintenance
• Perform minor facilities equipment repairs
• Perform office area general maintenance and repairs
• Read measuring tools such as tape measures & calipers
• Interpret drawings and lay out of facilities equipment
• Support Facilities Craft in the maintenance and repair of facilities equipment and systems
• As a team member, follow all safety, quality, and safe quality food (SQF) rules
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor
  
  

Experience

Previous maintenance helper experience preferred but not required

Skills/Experience Needed

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic carpentry skills
• Basic troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications
• Ability to read voltage meters
• Ability to read schematics a plus
• Basic cutting & grinding skills
  
  

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Other Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player.
• Computer knowledge (SAP, Excel, Word)
• Good oral and written skills
• Good organization skills
