What will you do?
As one of Sealed’s first full-time software engineers, you will have a unique opportunity to build world class software for a Series B company. You will develop on top of a proven service-oriented architecture and business model foundation, to build exciting applications that make it easy for homes to eliminate their energy use and carbon emissions. The software you create will allow Sealed to scale to millions of homes.
Your north star will be a customer experience that can deliver a clean home project without human interaction. In order to meet this challenge, you will work closely with Product Managers and other business stakeholders to prioritize development and determine the best strategies to maximize business value. You will work in an agile environment, creating sprints based on business and technical infrastructure needs.
What does success look like?
As a Senior Back End Software Engineer, you build the right things in the right way. You won’t be told what to build - rather, you will collaborate with Product to come up with the appropriate engineering solutions. You act as a leader and are not afraid to challenge other members of the team when necessary to clarify specifications and business goals.
While holding strong points of view on Sealed’s technical stack and applications, you are viewed as a partner by the rest of the team and accomplish most of your goals through “soft power” strategies to drive alignment across the team. And you do this by building trust through active listening and communication.
Most importantly, by working diligently and collaboratively, you create results. New applications move metrics that haven’t moved in years. The pace of development accelerates due to intelligent investments in infrastructure and documentation. The Sealed Engineering department is a shining example of agile development best practices.
