Job Posting for Guest Services Retail Manager at SeaQuest
Our goal at SeaQuest is to ensure guests have a one-of-a-kind experience interacting with animals from all over the world. SeaQuest is looking for a Safari Team Manager who will enhance the guest experience by creating a warm, inviting, and energetic environment throughout the aquarium. Safari Team Manager is responsible for managing up to thirty safari team members and interaction specialists and reports directly to the General Manager. Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the gift shop is restocked, clean, merchandised and items priced
Manage employees on upselling and customer service through training, mentoring, and leading by example.
Promptly and effectively handle guest inquiries, issues, and demands
Execute fun and memorable ways to motivate the team creatively to reach their monthly sales targets
Reach target sales goals and KPIs
Maintain accuracy and cleanliness of back stock rooms inventory
Analyze sales trends and coordinate with GM and Home Office for promotional items during peak seasons, new items to sell, and sale promotions to reduce stagnant inventory
Hire, mentor, coach, and discipline team members as approved by General Manager
Present sales, revenue and expense reports, and realistic forecasts to the management team
Manage inventory and trigger re-order points, and maintain good relationships with vendors
Perform quarterly and annual inventory counts
Promote and maintain the Brand and Culture within the aquarium
May be required to work with animals
Safari Team Manager Requirements:
Attractions, Theme park, and science center background highly preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with Company Management
Proficiency with PCs and MS Office
Ability to motivate and influence employees, peers, and other staff
High energy and a strong focus on the guest experience
Strong management and personnel development capabilities
Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others
Excellent customer service attitude and skills
Concessionary experience is a plus
Five years of management experience in a guest service environment consistently meeting or exceeding targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Knowledge of merchandising and organization of Gift Shop
Education:
A degree in the related field is preferred but not necessary
