POSITION TITLE: Packaging Folder Gluer Machine Operator 2nd Shift $20-$26/hr
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
SUMMARY:
The Folder Gluer Machine Operator responsibilities include set up, operation and maintaining box and carton folding gluing equipment to produce boxes and other packaging products. The Folder Gluer Operator will coordinate and work with support teams to complete product to customer specifications as directed. This position will be viewed as a subject matter expert regarding packaging products produced at Meyers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Support-
• Operate, set-up, maintain folding and gluing machines required to complete box and carton product per customer specification.
• Installs the appropriate tools, swords, and folding devices to achieve the required folding and pre-break for the carton.
• Determines the proper placement of the glue system(s) to achieve the correct final setup and function.
• Adjusts controls to regulate placement and timing of electronic glue systems.
• Continually monitors the quality of your production while ensuring your feeder and packers are performing their tasks as required.
Quality Assurance – Provides sample check and review of in-process and completed work for quality assurance purposes Flexible Workforce- Trained to operate and/or support other equipment and systems including but not limited to catching, rewinding, assisting other operators with press, ink jet and packaging equipment Documentation - Accurately documents time, materials, product quality, and other records as appropriate Other: Other duties as assigned including Security, Safety, ISO, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform repetitive manual tasks. Manual dexterity and excellent eye/hand coordination are required to safely manipulate equipment settings, utilize hand tools, move carts and skids with finished product throughout the plant. Must be able to move freely on foot throughout the plant, stand for sustained periods of time, and perform pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, and lifting functions.
2. Basic computer aptitude with ability to use computers as necessary in the operation of equipment or as a tool for process support and documentation.
3. Ability to follow verbal and written job instructions, including those dealing with dimensions and quantity. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
4. Level of work activity is usually heavy involving lifting and exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with the aid of lifting equipment, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school general education or GED equivalent. Must be able to read, write legibly, and perform basic mathematical calculations dealing with weights and dimensions. Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background check, physical, drug, and skills tests.
