FUNCTION

The Tactical Buyer is responsible for procuring materials from Sears' suppliers to fulfill manufacturing demand requirements and ensures no disruptions to manufacturing. Additionally, the Tactical Buyer is also responsible for effective oversight and optimization of raw materials inventory levels, master data management of purchased part attributes, order methodology optimization and tracking and reporting of key performance indicators.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively manage raw materials inventory to achieve corporate inventory goals and ensure the right parts are available at the right time
  • Perform part outage root cause analysis
  • Foster supplier engagement to understand issues, develop a continuous improvement project pipeline and drive initiatives to completion
  • Identify alternatives to raw materials shortages
  • Drive effective communication with materials, operations and order entry functional areas
  • Manage tactical procurement key performance indicator tracking and reporting
  • Facilitate part rationalization initiatives
  • Oversee part attribute data and master data management (MDM) process
  • Enhance ordering methodologies used to procure raw materials
  • Effectively manage key aspects of supplier performance such as on time delivery, communication and ease of doing business
  • Actively manage excess freight expenditures
  • Create standard work creation to document critical job functions
  • Prepare monthly reports as needed
  • Develop communication solutions that create value, decrease problems, and preemptively solve consistent issues

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To: Manager - Tactical Purchasing. Logistics and Supplier Quality

Supervises: No direct reports

Coordinates and works cross functionally with Operations, Material Control, Strategic Procurement, and Quality internally and with key supplier contacts externally

Education and/or Experience

  • 3 years of supply chain management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent professional certification.
