Opportunity: Estimator - Engineered Components
Seastrom Manufacturing is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join its Estimating team. The Estimator completes customer-requested quotes for manufactured products using various software, vendor quotes, and pricing, often in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires the ability to consistently follow processes and schedules independently, with periodic interaction with managers and others. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual who possesses a strong personal value commitment dedicated to professionalism, problem solving, and adaptability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide simple and complex written and spoken communication.
- Provide timely and accurate quotes to achieve the goals and objectives of the department.
- Complete quotations according to departmental processes and procedures.
- Ability to learn how to read outside process pricing from vendors’ communications.
- Properly route logged quotes using company routing program.
- Actively participate in meetings.
- Assist all departmental personnel when requested by supervisor.
- Give updates on the status of quotes.
- Ability to read and comprehend complicated blueprints and military specifications.
- Communicate regularly with the engineering department to analyze complicated parts.
- Complete no-bid communication as requested.
- Maintain excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Perform with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Load pricing into the system.
- Calculate lead-times for products.
QUALIFICATIONS:.
- Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in relevant field preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using the Internet and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong Excel skills involving the creation and execution of formulas and equations.
- Experience in manufacturing a plus.
- Experience with materials, finishes, and heat treats a plus.
- Experience with MRP systems a plus.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Convert units of measure efficiently (e.g., price-per-sheet to price-per-pound, and between metric and standard units). Some skill with geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is required to sit for extensive lengths of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the environment is quiet to moderate.
