Position Summary:

Through SCT’s Education & Engagement Department, the Operations Manager oversees all programmatic logistics and operations for the Drama School program. The manager develops, builds, and schedules class and camp offerings, communicates with staff and teaching artists, and manages program operations and logistics. In addition, they build relationships with partner organizations, oversees the Education Registrar position, and works side by side with the marketing team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages Drama School camps and classes.
  • Oversees all communication with students, parents, and teaching artist faculty.
  • Cultivates and maintains new and existing relationships with patrons, partner organizations, and other community stakeholders.
  • Assigns over 40 teaching artists in collaboration with the Director of Education & Engagement.
  • Provides support to teaching artists through class materials and supplies for all programming.
  • Oversees and evaluates new and existing classes and camps.
  • Maintains meticulous records of classes and camps such as services, reports, evaluative data, and feedback.
  • Develops class catalog language in collaboration with the Director of Education & Engagement and the Director of Marketing.
  • Assists in on-boarding and mentoring interns, apprentices, fellows, and teaching artists.
  • Plans, develops, and manages school year classes, break camps, and summer camp programs.
  • Oversees and builds camp schedules and daily programmatic operations schedules including extended care.
  • Supervises the Education Registrar.
  • Manages program budget.
  • Attends staff and departmental meetings.
  • Engages in professional development within the organization and community.
  • Attends trainings and related programming in the field.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Education & Engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field.
  • Spreadsheet and Database experience; Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Tessitura Network is a plus.
  • Experience in production management or stage management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the process of teaching and developing curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten- young adult.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to manage and direct multiple tasks concurrently, and provide follow-through.
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and customer service skills.
  • Must be an independent thinker and doer while being a collaborative; effective team player.
  • Minimum of two-years of experience working with youth.
  • Experience with teaching and/or supporting teacher development.
  • Commitment to cultural awareness in the classroom is highly valued.
  • Bilingual and multicultural communication skills are highly valued.

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, non-profit environment.

  • Studio and classroom spaces are accessed via stairways; Elevators are available.
  • Background checks will be conducted.

Salary & Schedule:

  • Salary is $23.00 per hour.
  • Full time with benefits, including fully paid employee medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Start Date: August 22, 2022.
  • Mostly Monday thru Friday, with some Saturday schedule. Flexible schedule is ideal.
