What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainable Building Science Technology Part Time Instructor Pool (South Seattle College) position at Seattle Colleges?
The Sustainable Building Science Technology (SBST) Bachelor of Applied Science program is looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members, who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a range of construction / facility management courses at the college level. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.

- Deliver instruction online using the Canvas Learning Management System
- Provide timely review and feedback of student submissions
- Develop and lead problem- and project-based learning activities using South Seattle and other facilities as "learning laboratories"
- Identify and recruit industry peers to serve as guest speakers to offer different perspectives on sustainable building
- Collaborate with other faculty to support the program, acquire materials, design and lead student problem and projects and improve in-house resources
- Participate in field trips to buildings and construction sites while actively engaging with students
- Collaborate in planning and developing curriculum and schedules within the context of division goals.

- An understanding of the goals and role of the community college.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach technical content at the upper-division undergraduate level to adult students
- A BA / BS with 5+ years of professional experience with a sustainability or energy efficiency focused design, construction, or facility management role
- A demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.
- Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting.
