SUMMARY
We are looking for a detail oriented, intellectually curious, creative and thoughtful lawyer to join our growing legal team as the Director of Legal Affairs. You will work closely with the General Counsel and a diverse group of clients to negotiate contracts and manage legal and business risk. Among other duties, you will be primarily responsible for assisting the operations team at Lumen Field in executing capital projects, concerts and other events and vetting and contracting with service providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements such as vendor agreements, services agreements, construction agreements, facility license agreements, sponsorship agreements and waivers
- Review and interpret commercial agreements and provide timely and actionable advice on rights and responsibilities
- Review marketing, promotional and advertising materials for compliance with applicable law and NFL rules
- Counsel human resources team on employment matters, disputes and investigations
- Conduct legal research and provide timely and actionable legal advice on changes in law
- Oversee compliance with data privacy laws and regulations
- Participate in NFL league calls and meetings
- Liaise with risk management team on insurance matters
- Assist the General Counsel in support of various legal matters
- Maintain contact and relationships with external business partners, outside counsel and other stakeholders
- Represent the organization at community, civic and corporate functions

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
- Membership in good standing of at least one state bar, with eligibility for Washington in-house counsel registration
- At least two to four years of work experience at top law firm or as in-house counsel
- Transactional experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality or construction industries is preferred, but not required
