Job Title:  Developmental Analyst 
Department:  Academy/Soccer Analytics & Video Analysis
Reports To:  Director of Video Analysis
Type:  Full-Time Regular / Non-Exempt

The Developmental Analyst will record and analyze performance data in order to provide suggestions for improvement of player and team performance that aligns with Sounders FC Developmental goals and values.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a leader and role model to all Developmental players, by living the Sounders FC Academy values of humility, community and ambition and emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, being respectful, polite and considerate.
  • Analyze training sessions for Academy/USL program and provide player feedback.
  • Conduct match analysis to aid evaluation of Academy/USL performance and philosophy.
  • Individualize player training programs, identifying needs and ways to progress the development of top talents.
  • Assist in analyzing club trials/trial players.
 
Off-Field Responsibilities:
  • Analyze match analysis to evaluate Academy/USL performance and philosophy.
  • Prepare individual player feedback sessions at the direction of coaching staff.
  • Prepare and develop pre and post-game review meetings at direction of coaching staff.
  • Execute weekly update of Statistical Performance Board (both team & individual).
  • Occasional video scouting of players.
  • Manage database and library of Academy situational references, including Curriculum & Game Cues.
  • Assist in providing formal (written) player reviews bi-annually to players and parents.
  • Provide match reports regarding player performance, grades, minutes played etc.
  • Attend all important team/staff meetings.
  • Travel with teams for away games, as required.
  • Ensure that club integrity and club code of conduct is maintained by developmental players, always.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS  
  • Previous experience playing or coaching on college or professional academy soccer level is preferred.
  • A passion for developing youth players.
  • Experience with industry software such as Hudl SportsCode
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience building presentations and delivering data and accompanying recommendations clearly and concisely. 
  • Team-player attitude; Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Professional and polite in all interactions.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
  • A strategic thinker.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • A passion for soccer and Sounders FC preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) or multi-lingual preferred.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT  
  • This position will work in-person from the Sounders FC training facility at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, WA.  
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Travel estimated to be 10%.
  • Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
  • Must be fully vaccinated at the time of hire and follow all club and league COVID-19 protocols. 
  • Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds.
