LAWN MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER

DEPARTMENT: Lawn Maintenance

RESPONSIBLE TO: Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader

Position Summary

The Lawn Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled duties, using physical labor and knowledge of specific equipment, to maintain client properties in the best possible condition at all times. S/he should also promote and sell the Company and its capabilities to further enhance its image in the community.

APTITUDE STANDARDS

Education & Experience

  • Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful
  • Experience in a related field preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of employment

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to stand during entire shift

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

Vital

  • Approach all interactions with clients and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, which include wearing the proper uniform while on duty
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with SLSI standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to business levels
  • Comply at all times with SLSI standards to ensure safe and efficient daily operation
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow employees
  • Make repairs and perform preventative maintenance to company tools and equipment
  • Take required readings on all equipment and notify proper employees of findings
  • Refill machines with correct type of fuel
  • Operate various machines including; riding lawn mower, lawn mower, string trimmer, pruning shears, edger, thatcher, front end loader, core aerator, blower, etc.
  • Use various tools including; leaf rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, barrels, brooms, pitch forks, steel rakes, pails, loppers, hand held pruners, tarps, etc.
  • Understand and be able to follow instruction or work orders
  • Perform and maintain work to local, state and federal codes
  • Operate two way radios and phones efficiently and professionally when communicating with other employees
  • Actively participate in energy conservation and overhead cost reduction programs
  • Be familiar with all clients, their history, future, likes, dislikes, etc.
  • Have knowledge of fire, safety and emergency procedures and assist when necessary
  • Greet and welcome all clients to the SLSI office in accordance with SLSI standards of performance
  • Respond to all client requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents presented throughout daily operations in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure satisfaction

Minor

  • Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance tasks
  • Attend meetings/training as required by management
  • Available to work overtime when requested by management
