Seaview Boatyard West, the Pacific Northwest’s premier boatyard and yacht repair facilities located in Seattle is currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, reliable Marine Shipwrights to join our crew.
We are looking for experienced, confident Shipwrights who take pride in their work and are looking for an opportunity to develop and grow with an industry leader. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, flexible employee with a solid work ethic, good communication skills and a positive attitude who thrives on working in a challenging and fast-paced environment. This position requires an individual that is professional, team oriented, and able to take direction while working independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- Perform general tasks on wooden vessels such as planking, framing, decking, corking and refastening.
- Repair and install teak decks.
- Build and install interior jointery.
- Remove and replace (or reinstall) windows, deck hardware, thru-hulls, etc.
- Ability to fabricate molds and patterns.
- Flexibility to perform other tasks - such as some mechanical & general applications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- One-two years of experience with interior finish/cabinetry and/or shipwright experience.
- Proficiency with all types of woodworking machinery and tools.
REQUIRED TOOLS:
- Basic selection of tools for a woodworking tradesman.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
- Our work schedule is Monday-Friday from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm.
- Must work as part of a team with a good attitude.
- Must be punctual and have an excellent work ethic.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
