What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Second Baptist Church?
Applicant needs knowledge and skillset in Fixed Assets, Asset Inventory, and the auditing process. Must have knowledge of church accounting software (ShelbyNext used by Church) and availability to help get the Church audit PBC List completed by March 8, 2024. Strong leadership, planning and schedule management skills are needed to meet an aggressive schedule to manage and provide guidance and oversight to SBC Business Office staff.
Requirements and skills
At least 3 years’ experience as an Accountant
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
At least 3 years’ experience with general ledger functions
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
BS in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree preferred
Certification (CPA or CMA) preferred

Pay: $48,728.00 - $52,000.00 per year
