PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Specialist I position is to continue to build on the experience and skill set developed for eliciting business requirements and the testing and validation of system enhancements providing Loan Administration and Information Services with responsive user availability on projects regarding the loan servicing systems. The Specialist I will assist in leading the team with medium scale projects.
DIMENSIONS:
The Specialist I must be comfortable working on all aspects of the loan servicing systems and will assist with project development and the testing and validation of system changes final testing and sign-off.The Specialist I will work in conjunction with the Projects & Enhancements Manager on the creation and prioritization of production defect tracking and enhancement projects.
DUTIES:
Possess full knowledge of all department responsibilities.
- Possess extensive, senior understanding of all loan servicing systems functionality.
- Is confident in leveraging system documentation to research projects and enhancements.
- Complete daily system responsibilities.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of SECU lending policies and procedures that impact all loan servicing systems.
- Maintain existing test scripts with updates based on assigned projects.
- Proficiently develop and review the necessary documentation for creating change requests to submit to the vendor or Information Services.
- Provide initial development of project design and business requirements for review by Loan Servicing Systems management.
- Proficiently create test plan / test scripts based on project design and business requirements and determine applicable regression tests to leverage in conjunction with the requested changes on multistep / multi-change projects.
- Directly engage with business users, technical resources, and/or our vendor to brainstorm, analyze, document, and review the requirements needed to introduce changes to the different loan servicing systems.
- Execute extensive regression testing to identify application and system defects prior to the migration to Production.
- Fully understand the functionality of the systems to which the loan servicing systems interface / integrate with.
- Act as a liaison between business users, Information Services, and vendor that are involved with projects that impact all loan servicing systems.
- Communicate with Information Services and/or vendors throughout project lifecycles and for continued application maintenance after implementation.
- Troubleshoot system issues and find accurate resolutions and communicate back effectively to the group.
- Effectively document and organize all defects or issues and successfully communicate steps to recreate to developers and/or vendor(s).
- Lead the team through testing verification, ensuring all testing goals are clearly communicated, executed, and results or defects are reported in a timely manner.
- Possess leadership abilities in overseeing change management knowledge.
- Report the status of projects, change requests, defect resolution, and assignments to the Projects & Enhancements Manager.
- Properly document all work.
- Provide system support to Branch, Contact Center, and Loan Administration staff as needed with error resolution.
- Work with Loan Servicing Systems VP and SVP as directed.
- Work with Loan Administration Staff as directed.
- Work with Information Services programmers and Operations Departments as directed.
- Must be flexible in performing tasks that may free up time for other senior Projects & Enhancements staff and/or Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of Loan Servicing Systems and Loan Administration operational procedures.
- Aptitude for critical analysis and the ability to learn/utilize new systems.
- Prefer a four-year degree, or CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP).
- Prefer at least five years of SECU experience or production support / business analyst / quality assurance testing experience.
- Must be self-motivated and able to successfully work independently.
- Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
- Must have good leadership skills.
- Must be observant and detailed oriented.
- Must have a high level of technical aptitude.
- Ability to work and communicate well with across organizational departments in a professional and efficient manner.
- Must have ability to present ideas and the results of system testing orally and in writing.

- Must be professional and cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.
