Position Description

Long-term contracts and the importance of repeat customers and customer referrals require that
Secure Futures foster and maintain excellent customer relationships. The main function of this role is to ensure a positive experience with Secure Futures for all customers throughout their decades- long connection with the company. The position supports the Business Development, Marketing,
Technical, and Administrative teams across the sales cycle, communicating with and adding value for the customers throughout the process.

The position requires a high level of integrity, independent judgment, excellent communications skills, people skills, and abilities to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified and dynamic workload. This would be an ideal position for someone who is early in their professional career and has demonstrated a fast-learning and is seeking employment with a dynamic company that serves as a force for good.

The position will be based in our Staunton, VA or Richmond, VA office with a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about solar energy, environmental issues, and a cooperative business model
  • Experience in sales or working in a customer-facing capacity
  • Comfortable communicating complex technical and/or financial concepts to multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in solar, construction, or an engineering-related industry a plus
  • Brings a positive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented attitude to work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools

Responsibilities:
Customer Facing Operations

  • Welcoming new customers and organizing kick-off events
  • Acting as point of contact for customer questions, concerns, and thoughts
  • Providing and communicating innovative education/training opportunities for customers
  • Performing 1:1 follow-up email and phone (Appreciative Inquiry) AI surveys with customers after system placed-in-service
  • Periodic 1:1 contact with customers (by phone or in person) to conduct an AI evaluation of their experience with Secure Futures
  • Researching, preparing and distributing Annual Performance Reports to all customers in consultation with COO
  • Maintaining a comprehensive schedule of due dates for Customer Annual Reports and communicating same to Admin and Technical teams
  • Coordinating with Admin and Technical teams in regular follow-ups to ensure data for

Annual Reports is complete and has had QC review

  • Delivering Annual Maintenance Report to all customers
  • Other tasks as may be assigned and mutually agreed.

Team Facing Support

  • Performing R&D related to shared solar development in markets served by the Company, including but not limited to Virginia, West Virginia and the Carolinas.
  • Research best practices from other states and summarize results for program Partners
  • Work closely with senior management to facilitate program development as needed for joint venture
  • Coordinating annual Solar Lead event for existing and prospective customers in consultation with Marketing Team
  • Assisting marketing team with webinars and follow-up for potential customers
  • Working closely with marketing team on PR efforts for existing customers, including PDFs, infographics, PowerPoints, booklets, webpages, and events, as well managing customer portal for clients
  • Communicating with Technical team to provide performance analysis to customers
  • Research and development across teams to develop solutions for customers
  • Other tasks as may be assigned and mutually agreed.

Team coordinating and writing for Grants and RFPs

  • Researching and identifying potential grants and RFPs on various grant portals, in consultation with senior management
  • Organize, prepare and coordinate grant applications in consultation with relevant team members, and draft grant application responses for senior management review and approval
  • Research RFP opportunities coordinate team contributions and draft RFP responses for senior management review and approval
  • Other tasks as may be assigned and mutually agreed.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid work schedule .

Physical Demands: This is largely an active yet sedentary role, requiring frequent standing, sitting, and bending, as some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Personal Presence: This person would serve as a primary contact for the company, by phone and in person.
