SecureAuth Internship: Technical Writer
SecureAuth provides the most advanced identity security software solution for large organizations globally enabling secure access to systems, applications, and data. We strive to deliver the most secure, frictionless user experience for our customers, partners, and employees everywhere, and we do this in part through our technical documentation.
The SecureAuth Technical Writing team has an opening for a Technical Writing Intern. This is a paid internship for 16 hours per week, from June through August, with a flexible schedule. SecureAuth is located in Irvine, near the Irvine Spectrum. The intern must work in the office.
About the Internship
Undergraduate student will be assigned projects to support a major information architecture paradigm shift.
Learn how a Technical Writing team keeps pace with software product development release deadlines, changes requested by internal and external customers, and information architecture rework by sitting in on writer team meetings.
- Complete work with topics, guides, and manuals; prepping documents to post on the SecureAuth public website.
- Learn how agile development impacts technical writing by working in the Technical Writing team Jira Kanban board and attending stand-up meetings to understand the agile release flow.
- Use tools to prepare you for your professional future: Jira, Confluence, Slack, Figma, Mural, Paligo, while working in an HTML/XML writing environment.
- Learn about topic-based writing, information architecture, and user experience (UX) on the user interface (UI).

- Passionate about technical writing with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Is a confident and motivated self-starter equally comfortable working with a team and independently.
- Is comfortable using new tools while embracing a learn-while-doing attitude.
- Able to research and comprehend complex technical concepts.
- Possesses initiative and a sense of urgency, while being purposeful and excited about getting work done efficiently.
- Most importantly: asks questions, learns, and is curious about technical writing in a software development environment.
