Job Descriptions: Customer Service Attendant
Customer Service Attendant – (Gate Attendants) are a critical part of the Customer Service Support team at one of our largest Global Clients (Menards). This position requires you to work at the entrance/exit gatehouse to ensure their Guests receive the utmost customer service experience as they enter and exit their self-service yard. This position requires an officer to be diligent and observant in their job duties. A Gate Attendant job function is to scan BOL (Bill of Ladings) as delivery trucks enter the yard, as well as making sure those trucks are empty when leaving the yard. In addition to providing great customer experience, you will acquire a unique skill of understanding product knowledge and being able to identify the different types of construction and home good products. You will physically inspect and identified each product on a customer receipt, to ensure the customer has the correct product prior to leaving the yard, the receipt will be scanned using an electronic device into the customer database, So, if you already have this type of skill, this will be a great position for you to utilize your knowledge and experience. Example skills may include warehousing experience, supply chain, customer service, retail service, construction / trade skill knowledge or any Military, Security or Law Enforcement experience.
- Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Prior knowledge of Construction / Home Good Products and the ability to use a 16’ tape measure that will be worn at all times.
- 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting or outputting information and the ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Experience using common technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Must be detailed oriented and observant, as well as thorough and honest.
- Must be dependable and have a means of transportation to and from job location.
- Must be a self-starter and can work independently.
- Most be willing to work outside and in adverse weather conditions.
You will report to the Store’s General Manager and their Front-End Manager at the location you are assigned throughout the course of the day. You will be required to wear and have turned on, at all times “the client’s radio and headset/earpiece. In addition, you will be required to fill out a DAR, “Daily Activity Report” throughout the course of the day.
