Position Details – Escrow Closer
The Escrow Closer serves customers by assisting and facilitating all aspects of real estate transactions and by ensuring customer’s rights are protected by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information, reviewing regulatory documents dealing with escrow issues and ensuring completeness and legal compliance, accurately manages and calculates all financial matters surrounding the closing of residential real estate transactions and some marketing. Specific job responsibilities include:
- Welcomes and greets customers and visitors, in person or on the telephone.
- Schedules real estate closings and obtains any necessary documents or information to complete the transaction.
- Prepares files per real estate contract and title commitment as well as any necessary escrow documents.
- Protects customers’ rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Assists with pre-signs and closings, when needed, upon completing training.
- Record documents.
- Disburse the file as required after each closing, if requested to. When disbursing is your primary assignment, can disburse a minimum of 18 files a day.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Can process a minimum of 40 closings per month when working directly with a closer(s) on scheduled files.
- Accurately manages the closing of residential real estate transactions.
- Provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation and escrow documents for filing tax returns.
- Reviews regulatory documents dealing with escrow issues and ensures completeness and legal compliance.
- Accurately manages and calculates all financial matters surrounding the closing of residential real estate transactions and some marketing.
- Can close a minimum of 40 files per month.
- Ensure all payoffs are processed within 1 business day as well as ensure all recordings have been done, which would include the eRecording of said documents and either disburse file or organize and send file to the disbursement center same day or the following morning after closing.
- Markets to customers, which may include attending customer events both during and outside normal working hours. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on occasion as needed.
- The ability to obtain a State of Kansas Title Insurance License is required within your first 6 months of employment – the company will provide assistance if needed.
- 1 year of previous experience in title insurance, lending, or real estate is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
- Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
- Dependability, strong work ethic and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
