General Summary of Duties:


Prospects for new real estate lending business and seeks opportunities to increase penetration of products and services with existing members.


Essential Functions and Other Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures prompt and courteous service is provided to all internal and external members/customers. 
  2. Conducts work in a safe and healthful manner.
  3. Maintains current knowledge of technology necessary to function in position; continuing education as needed. Networks with other financial institutions to stay abreast of current trends. 
  4. Submits recommendations for changes in policies and procedures, and assists in administrative matters, which effect the organization as a whole.
  5. Exhibits leadership and creates an atmosphere conducive to quality performance and morale. Promotes and enhances a culture of service excellence.
  6. Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union policies/procedures that are necessary for performing job duties, including but not limited to Negotiable Instrument Reference & Guidelines, BSA, and OFAC.
  7. Develop and enhance the Credit Union’s real estate loan portfolio.
  8. Act in compliance with the Credit Union’s Real Estate Lending policy at all times. 
  9. Provide information on Credit Union products and services and potential business members according to all Credit Union polices and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations.
  10. Meets with applicants to obtain loan information and documentation. 
  11. Serves members and prospective members promptly and professionally.  
  12. Provides general Credit Union information and cross sells services. 
  13. Develop mortgage loan business through seminars, calls to realtors, contractors and other institutions.
  14. Serves members, prospective members, builders, developers, and realtors promptly and professionally.  
  15. Assists Mortgage Loan personnel as necessary. 
  16. Maintains and projects the Company's professional reputation.
  17. Answers questions and resolves requests.
  18. Coordinates functions with related departments and branches and provides support as needed.
  19. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  20. Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required. 
  21. Completes required reports and records.
  22. Stays informed regarding changes in lending standards, related legal requirements, and trends in local real estate and competitive market.
  23. Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. 
  24. Completes special projects as assigned.
  25. Keeps AVP, Consumer Lending informed of any challenges within area of responsibility. 
  26. Frequent travel within Credit Union market.
  27. Qualify as a Mortgage Loan Origination (MLO) under the S.A.F.E. Act and SCU’s S.A.F.E. Act policy.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: An Associate degree in a Business related field

Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience in a credit union lending or similar environment with an emphasis on lending and business development; real estate and origination background preferred

Other Requirements: Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record based on insurance standards, and reliable transportation; must have or be able to attain Mortgage Loan Originator license
