Job Description
The Control Vault Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and secure handling of cash transactions within the bank. They are responsible for managing the vault operations, processing cash deposits and withdrawals accurately, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Functions
- Greet and assist customers both in person and over the phone, managing transactions effectively and professionally.
- Verify the accuracy of cash deliveries received from armored car services and document manifests accordingly.
- Conduct precise counts and validation of cash and currency to maintain accuracy.
- Process business and bank change orders received via phone.
- Investigate discrepancies in ATM reports and resolve errors promptly.
- Supervise currency orders for correspondent, affiliate banks, and commercial accounts.
- Coordinate and dispatch all currency shipments to and from the Federal Reserve.
- Create monthly analysis spreadsheets for charges.
- Perform daily cash management tasks, including stamping currency straps and machine-wrapping coin before selling.
- Provide support to branches regarding CSR-related questions and issues, conducting surprise audits as needed.
- Monitor cash levels at branches by reviewing drawer variances and conducting quarterly audits.
- Oversee equipment for CSR areas, including maintenance contracts and service calls.
- Manage Lockbox transactions for processing.
- Review daily activity reports for cash in transit and teller totals.
Secondary Tasks
- Operate and perform basic repairs on coin machines.
- Process fit/unfit bills and strap down bank money.
- Assist with filling and balancing ATMs as backup.
- Maintain and update electronic communication logs.
- Provide training assistance to vault tellers at branch locations.
- Troubleshoot issues with coin machines and ATM variances.
- Process foreign currency exchanges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role within banking or financial services preferred
- Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs
- Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements
- Lifting, adjusting, and moving objects up to 50 lbs. in all directions
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
Hours
Regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
