In your dot-connecting, operational role, you'll harness your superpowers in a range of HR focus areas––including compliance, employee relations, payroll, performance, benefits, and DEIB. You are energized by time-sensitive tasks, operate with the appropriate urgency as well as caution and diplomacy, and develop process-bound solutions that allow for the optimum balance of rigor and speed to suit our high growth startup.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the People Operations team, with a focus on key touchpoints of the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to: onboarding/offboarding, transfers, time off requests, leave of absences.
- Oversee payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees
- Oversees the administration of leaves to include all federal and state leave of absences.
- Develop and administer various human resources plans, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization to develop and model inclusive leadership best practices.
- Manage employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, leave of absence, wellness, and retirement plans.
- Recommend innovative employee benefit programs by evaluating and optimizing employee understanding and acceptance, while considering costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantages
- Develop, maintain, and implement human resources standard operating procedures, including compliance filings, employee records, reports, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Establish and maintain HRIS, department records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of People Operations and/or key Executive stakeholders
Qualifications
Education Experience:
- Five (5) or more years’ related HR experience, preferably in a high-growth start-up environment.
- Professional certification from SHRM or HRCI preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
- Broad HR generalist background including payroll, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
- Experience administering performance management programs, with a strong emphasis on setting goals and objectives and tracking performance metrics.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and other relevant software; Rippling, G-Suite, Asana Guru experience is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles, labor law, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll benefits administration.
- Understanding of compensation structures with a focused understanding of pay equity.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $110,000 – $140,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
