The Urban Forestry Design Assistant position is now available. Successful candidate for this unique position will be able to draw geo-referenced designs, create designs, write plans and assist with geo-referenced data collection, communicate clearly with clients and crews, and support principal designer with designs and a variety of managerial and leadership tasks.

Responsibilities

Support the urban forestry design principal with a variety of tasks, including drawing beautiful designs from sketches. Create designs. Buy plants. Place plants in landscape per designs. Provide instruction to crew. Develop budgets, manage projects and maintain budgets. Meet with clients. Answer phones and organize files. Keep office neat. Scan receipts. Procure supplies.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create domains in ArcGIS Pro for setting up into field maps and providing georeference information. Ability to create dimensionally accurate drawings using Vectorworks, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and SketchUp. Strong forestry, urban forestry, southwest landscape, water harvesting principles, and arboriculture design knowledge. Ability to listen to instructions and communicate effectively. Proven leadership. Clean driving record. Requires ability to walk on rough terrain in sometimes uncomfortable weather conditions. Ability to lift 25 pounds. On-time and trustworthy.

Preferences include: Bilingual in English and Spanish.Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of urban forestry design projects and plans.
• Assist in the production of digital and print media.
• Collaborate with designers and other staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Create and maintain design files, artwork, and other documents.
• Research and recommend new design techniques, tools, and technologies.
• Provide feedback on designs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Proofread designs for accuracy and quality assurance.
• Create and format management plans.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
