Our Story 

The company was founded in 2012 by two industry pioneering scientists, Bill Parrish, PhD and Tim Fitzgibbons PhD, who spent 40 years advancing the state of military and professional-grade thermal imaging technology. Following their previous two companies, Amber Engineering, and Indigo Systems, each with successful acquisitions, Seek Thermal is their third venture with the mission to make thermal imaging a part of everyday life.

An unseen world of energy surrounds us. We only see some of it with our eyes, light from a source of energy reflected on objects around us. But even though we can’t see it, all objects produce or retain heat. When viewed through a Seek Thermal camera, this world of heat can be converted to images, providing important information useful in solving everyday problems that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye. Seek thermal imaging lets you see the world of heat instead of the world of light.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, The IT Manager will be responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all company networks, user PC’s, systems and applications and have the responsibility of recommending new technologies and systems. This is a hands on, single contributor position with room for career growth. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The IT Manager will be responsible for executing IT enterprise infrastructure, including network (including WAN, LAN, Wireless, SDWAN, switching, routing, VPNs and firewalls Office 365 and user applications), compute, storage, virtualization, database, directory, authentication, monitoring, identity, access and remote access services.
• Support Window’s and MAC user PC’s and peripherals
• Support Production Floor IT needs and activities
• Identify opportunities for improvements, expansion, and/or reduction of services that meet the changing needs of the enterprise.
• Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Strategy and manage backups, to ensure business continuity.
• Report and prepare strategies to develop server infrastructure.
• Manage and Maintain system security by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures and access controls.
• Manage user accounts, licenses and distribution lists.
• Perform problem diagnosis on hardware, operating system, and/or applications.
• Oversee operational costs for IT Department

• Manage the IT Infrastructure resources, including drafting and executing its budget, developing its organizational structure.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.

• Define software and hardware standards in collaboration with stakeholders and owners.
• Develop an IT strategy map and assist with identifying and creating IT policies.
• Work closely with our outsourced Help desk provider and provide technical support to users as needed. 
• Maintain professional business relations with users and outside contacts.
• Keep abreast of new developments and trends. Make recommendations on desirable additions or replacements.
• Develop IT services and solutions to effectively meet future needs of users. Ensure that IT services are seamless, transparent and effectively delivered, and that problems are promptly resolved. Coordinate IT activities with other departments.
• Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to hardware.
• Provide ongoing training and support to optimize staff knowledge and use of software systems.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills with active-listening skills
• Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information.
• Knowledge of information security best practices and administrative, physical and technical safeguards (experience with common security frameworks preferred)
• Knowledge of best practices in overseeing an outsourced technical support helpdesk
• Knowledge of application development/maintenance or operations/infrastructure management
• Knowledge of desktop and mobile operating systems
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products
• Experience working, designing, developing and architecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and other cloud providers.
• Strong skills in creating business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or equivalent. Microsoft Certified. 
• 5 year of experience in managing and supporting server/network architecture, telephony, and infrastructure architecture.

This position offers a hybrid of work from home and work from remote. Must live in  Santa Barbara County within commuting distance.
