Segars Engineering is looking for a full-time Project Manager to work primarily in our Roanoke, VA office. The role requires in office work and field work at client facilities in the region. This is a multidiscipline leadership role and will include oversight and management of multidiscipline structural and mechanical engineering design projects. The expectation is that you will work closely with the client and our engineering and design team to initiate projects and drive them forward to successful completion while exceeding client expectations and meeting project budget goals. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent years of on the job project management experience at a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- 3-5 years of project management experience in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
- An outgoing personality with the ability to work closely with clients and lead designers and engineers in developing and executing engineering design projects.
- Experience with reading, creating, and editing construction documents and technical reports.
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical and business information effectively to stakeholders and supervisors.
- Ability to use project management software applications to manage tasks, schedules and budgets.
- Client and Contractor interface experience.
- Proficiency with design and engineering methods, standards, specifications, software and terminology.
- Experience running meetings, setting schedules, managing budgets, scoping, and walking down projects within industrial or manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to work in an Industrial or Manufacturing environment climbing ladders, navigating narrow catwalks and moving safely in industrial and manufacturing facilities with variable conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the design of multidisciplinary projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with ability to develop and prioritize tasks and address issues as they arise.
- Effectively lead team members with completion of design, drafting and engineering work.
- Perform site visits to gather field data, attend project scope and bid meetings.
- Create design concepts and obtain approval from clients.
- Review, revise, interpret, and comment on and drawings.
- Schedule and perform project design reviews with the design team and clients.
- Communicate with clients regularly on scope, deliverables, schedule, budget and other project matters.
- Build rapport with clients as well as speak technically about the project with the client.
- Prepare reports, enter data, update and maintain digital files.
- Travel to client sites on day trips within Virginia and the mid-Atlantic.
- Collaborate on the development and submission of project proposals.
