SeKON is looking for a Network Engineer to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in San Antonio, TX. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, upgrading, and integrating new or existing information networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, VoIP, intranets, extranets, and other communications systems. You will ensure that these networks meet the organization’s business requirements while maintaining efficiency, performance, and security.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Network Design and Integration: Design, test, and integrate new or upgraded networks, including local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Voice over IP (VoIP) systems, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Documentation: Document all stages of the engineering process, including build, configuration, testing, and deployment of networks.
- Coordination and Implementation: Collaborate with network administrators and stakeholders to implement new networks, perform upgrades, and manage version changes.
- Security Planning: Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard both new and existing networks from potential threats.
- Network Analysis and Planning: Conduct network modeling, analysis, and planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Technology Evaluation: Work closely with architecture teams to evaluate new and emerging network technologies and provide recommendations for the selection and implementation of new products.
- Troubleshooting Support: Assist network administrators in resolving complex network issues and coordinate with vendors when necessary to address troubleshooting efforts.
- Operational Support: Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support for deployed networks in both lab and production environments.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate across teams to ensure that network infrastructures are reliable, secure, and meet organizational goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
- Strong consulting and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across fast-paced and dynamic teams and at various levels of leadership.
- Strong understanding of Joint Health Service Support or Defense Health Agency processes.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to present effectively to senior government officials.
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with customers and program office members in a multi-vendor environment.
- Willingness to serve in various ad hoc roles, including contributing to proposal efforts and participating in hiring processes.
