Compounder

We are now hiring for a Compounder for a natural bath, body, and skincare company in Watsonville CA.

Payrate: $18-$24 DOE
Shift: Second, 3:30 PM- 12:00 AM

The primary job function of the Compounder is to compound batches to meet production needs in mixing tanks following batch instructions. Compounders are responsible for the overall housekeeping in the compounding area and keeping process equipment cleaned and sanitized.

Responsibilities:
• Assure accurate completion of all batch records and the collection of all retains from compounded products.
• Keep all compounding areas and equipment clean, sanitized and organized.
• Follow SOP’s for National Organic Program (NOP) tank usage and material storage.
• Cycle count materials as requested.
• Review cleaning logs weekly.
• Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
• Operate process equipment such as kettle, pumps, large-scale mixing equipment, in compliance with prescribed operating procedures.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products into and out of process equipment.
• Blend chemicals in a precise manner to create product following Batch procedures.
• Pre-weighing raw materials with lab and drum scales.
• Understand all safety, quality and operational procedures, tools, equipment, electronic/computer systems used in compounding and container filling.
• Understand all procedures used to verify and record information during compounding and container filling.
• Provide Quality Control for sampling and product testing
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Experience
• Experience working in a GMP environment preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry preferred

Special demands
• Physical stamina to withstand eight or more hours on feet. Kneeling, crouching, climbing and working at heights.
• This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
