What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Engineer position at Selectek, Inc.?

Our client is currently seeking an Automation Engineer.

Job Duties:

  • The Automation Engineer will be interfacing with customers to meet their various custom specifications and working in the Electrical Engineering team to design and program PLC and HMI hardware.
  • Perform quoting, design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and evaluation of automation systems.
  • Interact with internal staff and shop floor personnel, as required, in the performance of job responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the customer to finalize system design, controls package, and operator interface.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test. Interface with customers to meet expectations.
  • Provide expert technical advice on PLC’s and HMI’s to customer.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 5 years of Automation & Controls Engineering experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing control systems for robotic cells and other industrial processes.
  • HMI and PLC Programming – Siemens, Allen Bradley
  • Able to interface with customers and provide technical support.
  • Must be hands-on, self-motivated, and work well with team members and customers
  • Able to travel up to 30% (or as needed) and work in an on-call rotation

Preferred:

  • Perform the aspects of quoting, design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and evaluation of automation systems
  • Experience or ability to perform Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations
  • Project management skills
  • Ability in software development or scripting languages
  • Experience with robotics and motion control systems

Pay Range:

  • $85 – 100k, depending on experience
