Description

The Parent Resource Coordinator will be an integral part of Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) Parent Coordinator team and will be working with parents or guardians of students participating in our In-School program at Harriet Tubman Middle School, Reynolds and HB Lee Middle Schools, and Reynolds High School. This position will function as a member of multidisciplinary team with Coordinators from our Community & Family Programs and Youth Service department. The Parent Resource Coordinator will be responsible for administering resources and providing support to alleviate barriers for students and their families. Assistance may include housing and energy assistance, domestic violence advocacy, and workforce or career development. This position reports to the Parent Engagement Manager.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts initial assessment to determine eligibility for financial support and services
  • Completes required paperwork and data entry in Service Point and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) databases
  • Maintains case files and documentation as required by funding source
  • Conducts follow up assessment for all participants who have received Short Term Rent Assistance
  • Administers energy assistance
  • Provides information and referral assistance regarding community resources and services that cannot be met through SEI (e.g., legal, social, mental health, domestic violence, employment, and education)
  • Conducts trauma-informed assessments and develop safety plans with those experiencing domestic violence
  • Provides linkages/referrals/warm hand-offs to Domestic Violence Advocate
  • Builds positive relationships with students, their families, and the community.
  • Supports Parent Coordinator team with quarterly informational parent workshops, learning opportunities and fun events.
  • Supports Post High team with dissemination of information internal and external scholarships, FAFSA, and other activities associated preparing their student for college
  • Prepares monthly narrative reports
  • Accepts other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by SEI management.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelors Degree in Social Services or a related field highly desired. Significant training plus three (3) years work experience in a social service environment may be substituted for education requirement.
  • Ability to successfully connect with and motivate parents and extended family members.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for parents and young people.
  • Ability to successfully work with varying levels of parenting skills, from intensive-need to leadership.
  • Must be self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and complete extensive paperwork
  • Basic computer skills to include MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have current and valid state drivers license, in good standing with no insurability restrictions and must be insurable under SEIs auto insurance policy.
