As our Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring all payroll transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner on a biweekly schedule. Using employee time entries, vacation entitlement information and other inputs you will administer the payroll cycle, and provide pay-related information to employees.
What you will do:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all US salaried and hourly employees.
- Generate and update timely excel payroll registers for review and approval
- Gather and enter new employee data into payroll system and timekeeping system
- Process terminations and respond to final pay processing requests being cognizant of different rules and timelines for different jurisdictions.
- Respond to third-party inquiries (UI, EDD, SDI, etc.).
- Process weekly reports, review and communicate discrepancies in time cards.
- Review and make adjustments to timesheets as required.
- Import timesheet records to Ceridian for USA payroll
- Add secondary payments for commissions, expenses, bonuses as needed.
- Upload 401k contributions in the benefits portal.
- Add 401k employer matching contributions in Ceridian for employees as per company policy
- Generate monthly Health Benefits and workers compensation reports for coding
- Respond to payroll and benefits related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Manage employee information changes in Ceridian. (Address, withholding, etc)
- Provide payroll information for WCB requests (Washington, California)
- Ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
We want you to succeed, so you will need:
- 3 years of Payroll Processing experience in California
- Experience working within bi-weekly payroll submission deadlines
- Experience with data entry across various systems including benefits, time entry and payroll systems
- Experience with timekeeping software
- Experience with payroll systems (Ceridian preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Experience with benefits processing
Nice to have:
- Experience in other US states such as Washington
- Experience with payroll system implementation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- Initial preference is for someone based in Fresno county.
