Primary Purpose The IT Intern will work under the supervision of the IT Manager or designated IT staff to provide support to the Information Technology department. The Intern will gain practical experience in various aspects of IT applications and operations, including technical support, application configuration, software development, systems administration, network management, and project assistance. The Intern will assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support to business unit clients. The role offers an opportunity for hands-on learning and exposure to a fast paced and diverse IT environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of IT software (operations, applications, and analytics).
Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Respond to service desk incidents and escalate to appropriate IT personnel when necessary.
Assist in managing and monitoring IT infrastructure including network, server, and cloud platforms.
Collaborate with IT team members on various projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Participate in the development and maintenance of IT procedures and guidelines. Contribute to the development and improvement of IT processes and workflows.
Investigate emerging technologies and industry trends. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by IT teams.
Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education
Bachelor's degree Junior-/Senior-level student in an accredited college with degree major in Information Technology or Computer Science required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with operating systems including, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Basic understanding of computer hardware components and peripherals.
Knowledge of software applications commonly used in business environments, including Microsoft Office Suite and productivity tools.
Basic understanding of software development concepts, tools and technologies.
Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.
Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
Awareness of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Ability to perform basic system administration tasks such as software installations, updates, and backups.
Strong communications skills to effectively interact with business clients and IT team members.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail to accurately document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Willingness to take initiative and seek opportunities for learning and growth.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to IT policies and procedures.
Capability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite. Information Technology Full-time $41,184.00 $67,600.00 $94,016.00
