Test Automation Lead

Position: Test Automation Lead

Location: North Chicago, Illinois

Compensation: $155,000 - $160,000

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Responsibilities for Test Automation lead include:

• Work with cross-functional Agile Scrum teams to understand the web application requirements and design test cases for positive, negative and boundary conditions, etc.
• Test software application functionality based on feature acceptance criteria by building functional and performance tests using manual testing techniques as well as automated testing tools such as Selenium
• Create and maintain automated regression test suites using Selenium to verify and validate the new functionality being developed while ensuring that the existing functionality is not broken by new changes introduced to the application.
• Analyze test results, identify application functional issues and performance bottlenecks (server response time, throughput, network latency, database, etc.) and work with design and development team to pinpoint root cause and drive issues to resolution
• Create test plans and test cases, automate and execute for APIs for multiple interfaces

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree level preferably in an IT related discipline, or have the equivalent experience or qualifications
• 5 years of Test planning, execution, reporting and automation experience using Selenium
• In-depth knowledge of testing Web Applications hosted in AWS Cloud
• Proven ability to perform manual testing as needed
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum and testing techniques

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including engagements with design and development team members, business analysts, Product Owner and business end users
• Must be able to multi-task between testing tasks across multiple projects
• Previous experience mentoring other test team members on automation skills and provide guidance on best testing practices
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and identify problems at an early stage
• Proven ability to work in a fast-changing environment and react positively to re-prioritisation
