Job Summary:


The Branch Manager directly supervises the branch staff as well as the office operations to ensure that Bank policies and procedures, as well as all Federal and State regulatory requirements, are adhered to. The Branch Manager provides guidance and training and acts as the liaison between the office staff and the SVP – Retail Banking. 


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties as assigned)

  • Directly responsible for oversight of office workflow in addition to being knowledgeable in all aspects of banking, including but not limited to transactions, policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and retention of new accounts.
  • Collaborates with SVP – Retail Banking to develop skills and strategies for making community contacts for the purpose of building and retaining new retail and business relationships. Creates a book of clients through building outside community relationships as well as deepening existing customer relationships within the Business Banking Department.
  • Provides customers with knowledgeable assistance relating to the Bank’s products and services, as well as training staff to provide the same level of customer service.
  • Primarily responsible for new accounts for the branch.
  • Research, review, and solve more complex questions for customers, as provided by the branch staff. 
  • Provides oversight for ensuring that various daily logs and reports are completed according to policy in addition to ensuring all Regulatory requirements are being met. 
  • Reviews Change of Address authorizations for the Bank.
  • Knowledgeable in the QualiFile and Fraud Finder platforms as well as Deluxe check ordering processes.
  • Ensures that all annual course requirements for personnel are completed in time.
  • Required to be knowledgeable of lending responsibilities and works with customers on various loans.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Bank Security Program, as well as be the main contact on the Eastern Security call list for vault alarm responses. 
  • Communicate with Head Teller regarding the progress of a new teller and be prepared to assist when necessary. 
  • Must ensure solid and effective communication skills with the branch staff.
  • Oversee record retention requirements for the Branch.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


The Branch Manager supervises all branch staff, including but not limited to Head Teller, Tellers, Assistant Branch Manager, Relationship Bankers, and Universal Bankers.  Supervisory responsibilities include making hiring recommendations; instructing and training in work methods; planning, scheduling, and assigning work; checking and approving work; conducting performance evaluations; recommending salary adjustments; making effective recommendations regarding promotions; determining disciplinary actions regarding unsatisfactory employees. 


Required Experience and Education:

  • Associate degree and a minimum of four (4) years' proven retail sales, call center, customer service and/or telesales experience or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of six (6) years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of four (4) years' proven retail sales, call center, customer service and/or telesales experience. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory and/or leadership experience. 
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service. 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. 
  • Demonstrated sales/business development experience. 
  • Ability to communicate and function professionally with all levels of personnel and business partners across the organization.
  • Ability to promote a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with customers, bank personnel, vendors, and guests on a regular and consistent basis. 


Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

  • Basic Equipment and Machinery: Basic personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive e-mail messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, and/or data entry. Ability to create spreadsheets, graphics, and reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to operate a computer, printer, scanner, copier, facsimile machine, telephone, adding machine, postage meter and calculator.
  • Computer Software: Ability to utilize word-processing, excel spreadsheet and Adobe Acrobat.


Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the Branch Manager is regularly required to, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • The physical requirements of this position call for the ability to lift, move, push, pull, or otherwise exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, performing accounting duties, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.


Environmental Conditions:


There is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office work environment.

The base pay range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 per year. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
