Looking for a full time Resident Care Director as soon as possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
Must have 20 hours of training specific to the population to be served, for each Special Care Unit to be operated as defined in the
NCAC 13F 1309 regulations.
Meet physical and sensory requirements stated below and be able to work in the described environment.
Oversee and Manage on an ongoing basis, the following:
Resident Care Plan/ Profiles for residents.
Accuracy of all resident documentation.
Charting of Resident information
Admissions, transfers, discharge planning and discharges
Process and improvement initiatives that improve customer service, work flow and environment.
The day-to-day functions of the resident care givers in accordance with rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the industry.
Resident Care staffing schedules.
The written policies and procedures established by this facility for all care giver personnel.
Care giver personnel are compliant with respective Job Descriptions.
Accident /Incident reports
Physician Orders, medications, treatments, Care Plans, and Progress Notes
Physician telephone orders and forms
Recording new and changed Diet Orders
Resident medical record
Medication Administration, errors
DSS guidelines, FL2 and Local established procedures
Ordering and having par levels of supply stock medications, supplies, and equipment
Pharmacy requirements, policies and procedures for narcotics and medication.
Resident needs and concerns
Rounds with physicians
Notification of physician and responsible party of change of status, Incidents and accidents
Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of each shift, as required.
Cooperate with other resident services and be certain that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.
Participate in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
Notify the attending physician of automatic stop orders prior to the last dosage being administered.
Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Med Tech or LPN with minimum 5 years of experience in a long term care setting.
Must have a certificate of completion of the written exam of Medication Aide.
80 hours of clinical training completed.
Must have 20 hours of training specific to the population to be served, so that the Special Care Unit is operated as defined in the NCAC 13F 1309 regulations.
12 hours of continuing education annually (A. 6 hours of Medical Administration, B. 6 hours of Dementia specific)
Must have a current/active CPR certification.
Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills as well as proper phone etiquette.
Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet.
Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPPA guidelines and regulations.
Acknowledge and maintain Resident Rights of the residents and proactively acts as a resident advocate.
Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintainmultiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.
Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move,and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.
Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Bending and/or stooping for more than one (1) hour at a time.
Sitting for more than one (1) hour at a time.
Requires writing and/or computer work with repetitive typing and concentrating on computer screen and/or documents for more thantwo (2) hours at a time.
