This is a salaried position on the staff of Senior Connection Center where exercising good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions are very important. The Director of Community Relations and Fund Development is a highly responsible professional position intended to oversee and manage the Agency’s fundraising activities, including donor relations, corporate partnerships and sponsorships, and fundraising events, as well as developing and disseminating pertinent messaging around the Agency’s mission, work, and role in the community. This position requires a high degree of initiative and independent action. An employee in this position must have knowledge of the professional code of ethics around fundraising and donor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the President and CEO to establish and maintain meaningful relationships with existing donors and corporate sponsors, including creating opportunities for their engagement with the Agency.
  • Updates and maintains Agency’s donor database, including documenting donations and donor correspondence, in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Works with the President and CEO, other SCC staff, Board Directors, Advisory Council, and community partners to identify potential donors and sponsors, cultivate these relationships, and grow SCC’s donor base.
  • Works with the Outreach and Community Services Manager to identify strategic networking and community events to attend in order to maintain existing relationships and identify potential new partners.
  • Works with Outreach and Community Services Manager to coordinate Agency messaging via the Agency’s website, social media platforms, e-newsletter, etc.
  • Plans, executes and oversees the Agency’s annual fundraising event including all elements of venue, dining and AV coordination, acquiring sponsorships, promoting and judging awards, preparing scripts for presenters, designing event program, coordinating event advertising and ticket sales.
  • Creates and publishes Agency’s Annual Report utilizing stories, testimonials and photographs as well as data, budgets and statistics to convey the Agency’s story. Collaborates with SCC Senior Management and other key staff throughout the year to identify and gather content for the report.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Minimum education and related experience:
  • Master’s Degree and two (2) years of experience; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience
  • CFRE certification may be substituted for 2 years experience
  • Successful completion of applicable background screening required.
  • Any exceptions to the minimum requirements must be approved by the President and CEO.

  • Ability to communicate well, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work well with donors, volunteer staff, community leaders, business people and vendors.
  • High energy level with a positive attitude and evident enthusiasm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,079.00 - $63,849.00 per year

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Fundraising: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Private Donor and Business Sponsor: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Certification (Preferred)
