What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietry Aide position at Senior Suites at Century Farms?
PURPOSE: The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
· Must possess, as a minimum, an 8th grade education.
RESIDENT RIGHTS:
· Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
· Ensure that you treat all residents fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect
· Knock before entering the resident’s room
· Report all grievances and complaints made by the resident to the Nurse Supervisor or Administrator
· Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of residents property immediately to the Nurse Supervisor and Administrator
· Communicate respectfully and appropriately, respect culture differences among residents and staff
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
· Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
· Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
· Assist cook in preparing meals
· Distribute and collect menus as necessary
· Assist in checking diet trays before distribution
· Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas
· Serve food in dining room as instructed
· Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
· Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
· Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
· Clean worktables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
· Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area
· Wash, clean, and return utensils to proper storage areas
· Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
· Remove food trays from carts, dining rooms, etc., and take to dishwashing area
· Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed.
· Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
· Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a clam environment throughout the department.
· Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to Administrator
· Attend and participate in facility mandatory in-service trainings.
SAFETY AND SANITATION:
· Prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures.
· Always follow safety regulations and precautions
· Follow established Infection Control Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks.
· Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
· Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
· Always assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner
· Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
· Wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious waste and/or bloody/body fluids.
· Report missing/illegible labels or MSDSs to your supervisor.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
· Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and the team concept
· Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
· Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
· Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of their individuals in the workplace

· Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with other
· Must be willing to perform tasks that may involve exposure to the blood and/or body fluids
· Must be willing to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
· Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
· Must perform all additional tasks assigned to you by supervisor

Pay: $11.00 per hour
