What does the job involve?

Summary: Responsible for executing and ensuring the integrity of the master production schedule by verifying the timely completion / receipt of planning, tooling, materials, details and sub-assemblies for one or more cost centers. Initiates investigation and involves the key personnel required to resolve problems that may impact scheduled shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

• Releases all assemblies, sub-assemblies and shop orders to the floor.
• Reviews production plan for appropriate action to take or reschedules assembly orders when unable to release due to shortages.
• Works with the Contracts Department to meet customer commitments and resolve order scheduling issues.
• Proposes and gets authorization for a recovery plan on delinquent orders when normal lead time is insufficient to meet customer needs.
• Coordinates shipping plan and manufacturing plan with production supervisor.
• Resolve critical items; Clear and monitor aging shipments. 
• Create a solid build plan and bring down any past due.
• Provide detailed shortage or late start reports. 
• Level load future demand.
• Work with leads, supervisors, buyers, contracts admins, master scheduler.
• Attend daily Gemba walks and morning production meetings.
• Regularly review / maintain MRP data integrity.
• Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
• Other duties with the work as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school education; College coursework or Bachelors degree a plus.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of production control, production planning, scheduling, expediting and record keeping. CPIM preferred.
• Training in production control methods and procedures and lean manufacturing a plus.
• Ability and experience with Excel
• Experience with release assemblies and working in a high volume, high revenue environment.
• Experience troubleshooting aging orders and delayed deliveries for resolution.
• Ability to work onsite at Burbank facility daily.

Required Skills:

• Language: Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to interact with employees of all levels and cultural backgrounds Ability to read, comprehend, present, and write (in English) correspondence, work orders, policies, procedures, etc. Ability to prepare presentations and speak / present material to large groups of employees.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving many variables in various situations.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Other Abilities: Must be able to handle many customers with a variety of requests. Must be able to effectively multi-task and quickly change from one task to the next and back.  Must be a detail orientated, self-administrator able to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
