What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Operations Team Lead position at Seniorlink, Inc.?
As a leadership position for the operations team, this hybrid architect and site-reliability role is responsible for all operational aspects of the company’s care collaboration platform, Vela. The Cloud Operations Team Lead will assist in our transition to a containerized environment, be responsible for the continued uptime and availability of existing and new systems, and drive new projects and technologies while keeping an eye on scalability, security and cost.
What You Will Do::- Help finalize our transition to Kubernetes while ensuring high stability, security and availability of existing systems.
- Guide and mentor cloud engineering team and lead long term projects
- Drive our platform monitoring solution to preemptively alert on system ailments and prevent core systems downtime.
- Actively research latest application, infrastructure and networking vulnerabilities to enforce security in the cloud provider and attached systems
- Champion continuous performance, scalability, and cost improvements
- Lead the development and architecture of technical infrastructure and application design plans that take advantage of cloud services and enforce security
- Participate in performance testing to identify and tune provisioned capacity and scale-up characteristics
- Build and improve software delivery systems and processes to reduce cost and accelerate developer feedback
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide infrastructure support
- 7 years of engineering or related experience
- 3 years of Kubernetes experience
- 3 years of AWS experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead from a technical perspective in a containerized environment
- An undeniably strong understanding of monitoring practices
- An obsession with running operations at peak performance and cost efficiency.
- A strong desire to provide technical guidance to a small team in a mentoring capacity
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code practices
- Demonstrable knowledge of site-reliability and security maintenance fundamentals
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining distributed, secure and highly available systems
- Willingness to pivot in a rapidly changing environment while championing new ideas and processes.
- Ability to contribute to any scripting language as needed, including: bash, ruby and python
- Hands-on experience with orchestration, system configuration and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Rundeck, Jenkins, Git Workflows, and more.
- Familiarity with gitops-driven CICD a plus
- Familiarity with healthcare and HIPAA secure environments a plus
