First (Days) (United States of America)AvMed, a division of Sentara Health Plans in the Florida market, is hiring a Benefits Consultant. This position is 100% remote however candidates must reside in Orlando, Florida and willing to travel throughout the Orlando market.
AvMed Scope of the Position: The Benefits Consultant is accountable for meeting / exceeding assigned sales quotas for the Medicare line of business. Responsible to develop / cultivate relationships with External Sales Channel; Providers; External Business Partners and Community Organizations; AvMed Prospects; and AvMed members, to support membership growth objectives. Develop and facilitate presentations to promote the AvMed Medicare products' value propositions. Manage the external sales channel by continually building, training, and supporting external agents in assigned territory. The role is expected to provide ongoing engagement with AvMed members, delivering an exceptional member experience resulting in member satisfaction and retention. Must have expertise in the Medicare line of business, including but not limited to benefits, regulations, process, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works assigned territory, establishing, and maintaining relationships with community organizations AvMed contracted providers, and retail locations to conduct Medicare marketing events to generate leads in order to present Medicare Advantage plans to prospective members in accordance with terms established by AvMed, CMS and the State of Florida, driving self- generated leads to the external agent channel and achieving assigned sales and retention goals.
- Recruit, acquaint and train external agents and brokers on AvMed Medicare products and secure commitments to achieve new sales and retention goals. Deliver effective presentations and on-going support to establish broker alliances, to ensure ability to close sales and/or retain AvMed members. Conducts ongoing agent engagement activities in collaboration the local market to educate agents on products, enrollment systems, and compliance and resource tools available.
- Conducts outbound telephonic campaigns; participate in AvMed community member engagement activities; and conduct new member welcome events to provide ongoing support and excellent service to AvMed Medicare members, to promote high levels of member retention and satisfaction.
- Develops and maintains relationships with network providers in assigned territory to ensure Provider satisfaction with plan; Provider understanding of AvMed benefits and identify Provider co-branding opportunities.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of sales experience required, or HS Diploma and 5 years sales experience required in lieu of degree
- Related experience in health insurance sales
- Florida Health Insurance (240) or Florida Health, Life & Variable Annuity (215) licensure
- Health insurance /Managed care experience; preferably Medicare sales experience.
- Valid Florida Drivers license
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge of Medicare sales processes, rules, and regulations
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Ability to engage with the community through service, organizations, activities, and volunteers
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrates passion about continuously improving consumer experience
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office: Word; Outlook; Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in technology including high level use of laptop and mobile phone devices, understanding of or comparable knowledge of CRM tools and other sales/marketing resources, preferably familiar with Salesforce
- Results and goal oriented
