The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth largest transportation system in the United States, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.
We are currently seeking a Compensation/HRIS Administrator (9060) in the HR/Compensation/HRIS.
SEPTA currently requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination at their pre-employment medical appointment.

Salary Range: Min: $76,492.00 - Mid: $95,602.00 - Max: $114,712.00

OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Assists in the administration, coordination and processing of highly confidential matters within the Compensation/HRIS section of the Human Resources division. Conducts job analysis and job evaluations for Supervisory, Administrative and Management (SAM) positions. Performs required compensation/costing analyses and makes effective recommendations for requested SAM salary adjustments.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains records and reports relating to pay rates, position grades, job evaluation
- policies and performance appraisal records.
- Assists in the development of policies/guidelines and procedures regarding SAM (Supervisory Administrative Management) compensation practices.
- Part of the final approval process for SAM salary increases that are pre-approved by upper management and permitted according to compensation guidelines.
- On request, assists department managers or designees in matters of the SAM Compensation Policy/Guidelines.
- Performs SAM job evaluations utilizing the Hay System and required analysis of job responsibilities.
- Interacts with departments regarding processing of 3114s and SHARE transactions that relate to SAM status and/or salary actions.
- Performs the required analysis of requested salary adjustments, submits results and recommendation to Department Director for approval.
- Responsible for compiling and producing various salary compensation reports requiring a high degree of accuracy, judgment, responsibility and confidentiality.
- Responsible for completing all Salary Wage Surveys received from APTA and other Transit Agencies.
- Monitors SAM Performance Evaluations and associated salary actions to ensure conformity to policy.
- Maintains performance evaluation records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Psychology or related field required with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in a Human Resources/Compensation related position including technical knowledge of compensation practices and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), American’s With Disabilities Act (ADA) and other related employment laws.
- Must demonstrate excellent analytical skills utilizing Excel or similar programs costing out large scale compensation proposals with exacting accuracy.
- Experience with HRIS systems and HRIS table maintenance required.
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Organizational ability to plan, formulate, and execute policies and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with employees at all levels.
- Proven analytical ability to solve complex problems.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience evaluating positions within a formal evaluation required, Hay compensation experience preferred.
- Master’s degree or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or some coursework towards CCP designation preferred.
