Position Context:
Oversees and directs the entire maintenance and facilities department and is responsible for providing corrective and preventive maintenance and support services for the building and all equipment in Newburyport. Facilities department is directly responsible for administering and maintaining the systems to ensure the reliable, efficient, and sustained operation of the facility and all equipment including Capital Equipment purchasing. Additionally, through daily tasks, the successful candidate supports current project operations and site goal objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory, corporate and site requirements.
Main tasks :
- The Maintenance Manager troubleshoots complex utility systems which may include Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), steam boiler, electronic control systems, refrigeration, electrical, compressed air and gases, purified water, wastewater treatment, vacuum systems, and/or other Biotech/pharmaceuticals utilities.
Further duties include supervising preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing process equipment such as glass lined/ hast alloy equipment and associated rotating equipment.
The Maintenance Manager also interprets drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications in planning and performing maintenance and repairs. Also involved in new equipment and new plant system installations as needed. The Maintenance Manager also provides day to day technical assistance to the Maintenance Services, Metrology, and Validations groups.
The Maintenance Manager authors accurate documentation for the operation and maintenance of various utility systems and supplies information and technical data for securing spare parts. The Maintenance Manager supervises general facility upkeep and provides responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction.
Required skills :
BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
7-10 years of experience working in a CGMP environment. Ph.D. preferred
5 years of experience leading direct reports preferred
Experience working for a maintenance organization in a CGMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Experience in a multi-step fine chemical manufacturing facility with a thorough knowledge of specifying and maintaining glass lined equipment.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Manufacturing
Experienced leading teams to maintain adherence to a demanding production schedule.
Technical Support, Facilities, Engineering and Validation
Experienced authoring and reviewing standard operating procedures, on-the-job-trainings, and other controlled documents
Familiarity with Deviation Management Systems
Understanding of Quality systems
