Position Description

You will support management in the analysis and understanding of financial control standards with the goal of interpreting, explaining, and applying them to in-scope business processes. This key role will support the development, implementation, and execution of the Serco Inc. financial reporting controls program aimed at meeting expected legislatively based SOX-like assurance requirements.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization including business process owners, control operators and owners, Finance, IT, Procurement, Contracting and other functional teams, and their UK based parent company counterparts. You will be responsible for assisting with the documentation of key business process flows, and supporting management in the identification, and assessment of financial reporting control elements. As a member of the Finance Controls team, you will support a risk-based controls testing program. You will also participate in the on-going GRC tool design, testing, implementation, and execution activities. In this role you will:
- Collaborate with management in the documentation of business process flows and risk and control matrices for key financial processes through workshops and interviews with process operators and owners
- Identify and evaluate key and non-key controls within processes and coordinate with management to address control gaps
- Consult with parent company assurance team as necessary to support program objectives
- Support GRC tooling implementation
- Document and monitor remediation activities emerging from testing and assessment program
- Support development and delivery of training to process owners and control operators and owners to ensure clear understanding of program requirements
- Coordinate the collection and validation of control self-assessments and other assurance documentation as required by company risk management policy
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting.
- 2-4 years’ experience in auditing or financial controls compliance environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards.
- Experience with developing business process flows, identifying control activities, and developing risk control matrices.
- Exposure in the assessment of the design effectiveness of financial controls.
- Comfortable working with functional teams in support of achieving team goals.
- Support financial control testing programs and reviewing control evidence.
- Good understanding of ERP systems (preferable Costpoint) and relationships with third party applications such as Hyland OnBase, Blackline, ADP, Concur, etc.
- Awareness of risk management concepts and practices.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management.
- Have strong time management skills to facilitate project management activities often dependent on stakeholder engagement.
- Have excellent writing skills.
- Be proficient in Visio, Excel, Word, and Power-point.
- Be a good collaborator who works well in a pressured environment.
- Due to federal contracting regulations, US Citizenship required.
