What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Manager position at Serenity?
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains operation of Serenity Assisted Living & Memory Care. Directs, coordinates and supervises all services and programs.
- Completes or assists in hiring caregivers/CNA’s
- Develops, manages and leads the management team to assure excellence in services.
- Conducts oneself in a professional matter.
- Must be available a minimum of 40 hrs per week with the understanding that more hours may be necessary to complete deadlines or during periods of “extenuating” circumstances (thus the intention of hourly wage to compensate for extenuating circumstances)
- Be available/rotate “on call” when not on the premises.
- Develops, implements and assesses systems of staffing and scheduling to assure adequacy and mix of personnel 24 hours a day. Provides leadership and direction in inspections, audits of facility and operation.
- Interprets Serenity’s philosophy and all policies to all team members. Sets tone and atmosphere of Serenity.
- Supervises maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment. Maintains good public relations and employee morale.
- Maintain complete confidentiality at all times in all business and personal dealings with residents, family, staff, and general public.
- Is responsible for holding staff meeting that foster team engagement, respectful participation, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Ongoing willingness to take on new duties and embraces change.
- Is the primary contact for all information regarding residency at the facility.
- Is the primary person to give tours of Serenity.
- Will coordinate with the Serenity nurses to schedule and conduct assessment appointments with potential residents prior to moving into the facility.
- Is the primary contact person for potential residents or families of when considering residency at the facility.
- Will make sure all paperwork is filled out correctly by family and / or potential resident prior to moving in a timely manner.
- Communicates with Company Manager on purchasing major equipment, policy change, and staffing issues. Maintains established budgets.
- Assists with accounting of business transactions; is responsible to oversee that all billing is reimbursed and received.
- Able to volunteer in the community to support ongoing development of Serenity and area community.
- Prepares and delivers all correspondence in regards to termination of services and / or residency within State regulations.
- Is available to listen to, investigate, and assist residents with all suggestions and / or issues they may have.
- Will give direction to the facility nurses or other leadership team members when requested or is necessary.
- Will provide direction to maintenance in facility upkeep.
- Will intervene and give assistance to residents, family, or staff when necessary.
- Will investigate and help make the final decisions when necessary in the daily and future operations of Serenity
- Will contact the Company Manager with concerns and / or questions when critical needs arise.
- Is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the facility.
- Is responsible to oversee that all services and business practices are being conducted according to State regulations.
- Will follow directions and instructions given by the Facility Manager or Company Manager.
- Will present ideas and suggestions to the Facility Manager or Company Manager on all operations, financial or other.
- Is responsible for well-being and protection of every resident and all staff when using the facility property
- Obtain and maintains a current license as a housing director by attending workshops and seminars (paid for by Serenity)
- Performs duties as the privacy officer and assists in the implementation and changes of the HIPAA privacy policies.
- Is responsible for emergency preparedness and all procedures related to the preparedness.
- Must dress professionally, follow dress code, and maintain standards of personal hygiene.
