Lead Machine Operator

Summary:

The Lead Machine Operator is responsible for managing daily job assignments to meet production schedules, also in assuring that we are following all safety and quality guidelines. Other jobs assignments as directed by the Production Manager.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

• 2-5 years’ experience in managing work crews.
• Ability to read customer drawings and understand their process and procedures
• Advanced knowledge of machinery operations
• Ability to repair and service machinery as needed
• Previous experience operating and programming Mazak or applicable machinery
• Ability to manage time and work independently and/or with subordinates
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred
• First Aid Certification
• Ability to operate forklift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Always conduct daily safety briefings and maintain safe working conditions. Maintain condition, functionality and always use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Manage personnel to ensure projects are running on schedule.
• Train employees on machine operating processes and keep them current on procedures.
• Evaluate employees to insure they continually improve and or are doing their assigned duties.
• Evaluate information furnished for the job, delivered materials, to assure work is performed as designed and meets customer Quality Standards.
• Safeguard against loss of unused materials, ladders, and tools on the job site or plant location.
• Proficient in documentation to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Communicate with customers, vendors and co-workers in a professional manner.
• Ensure that preventive maintenance is performed on equipment.
• Notify Supervisor of any issues and/or changes needed on projects, drawings or other.

Physical Demands:

• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling and/or sitting for long periods of time
• Climbing ladders to reach ceilings and other high objects.
• Push/Pull/Lift/Moving 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Working in adverse weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
